Calls on government to review its approach to heating rural homes

Rural England has raised concerns about Government plans to ban fossil-fuel boilers in off-gas properties sooner than in on-gas properties, citing that the policy leaves rural households with the only choice of installing more expensive alternatives.

While the Government recently announced a 50% increase on their boiler upgrade scheme to £7,500, this will still means that many rural properties may face costs of £20,000+ to reach required energy efficiency levels.
