Howardian Hills annual photography competition launched
Community First Yorkshire and The Howardian Hills AONB Partnership have joined together to launch the 2022 Howardian Hills Photography Competition.
The competition is a great opportunity for amateur photographers to get snapping and display their skills by submitting photographs of our beautiful Howardian Hills.
Victoria Russell, Head of Projects at Community First Yorkshire, said: “Whatever your interest, something is bound to pique your creative juices. We are welcoming pictures on the themes of landscape, flora and fauna, history and heritage, and living, and working in the AONB.”
She added: “We also have a category for young photographers – we would like the images in this category to show us what is special to you about this area.”
The competition will round off with an exhibition of the finalists’ entries at the Ryedale show on 26 July, where a selection of prizes will be on offer.
Victoria said: “This competition has been running since 2015, over the years we’ve had such a large range of entries that really demonstrate the beauty of the area. It’s a great way to show off what’s on our doorstep throughout all of the seasons and it hopefully encourages others to get out and experience it for themselves.”
All photographs must be taken within the Howardian Hills. A map of the AONB and a full set of competition rules are available on the Howardian Hills website.
The closing date for entries is Sunday 19 June 2022.
