August 2022 update

In the latest update the Collaborative are creating a conceptual framework to ensure transparency in the grant making process and the distribution of funds from the HNY HCP to the VCSE sector, for the delivery of services and specific pieces of work.

The VCSE Collaborative are also conducting a mapping exercise to gain a better understanding of what data is collected by the wider VCSE Sector. Across Humber and North Yorkshire, the VCSE Sector holds a wealth of data and knowledge about population health but the challenge is understanding where that data and knowledge exists, and what additional support is needed to collect, process and share this data.

You can view the full overview of the VCSE Collaborative’s Meeting which took place on Monday 8 August here.

What data do you collect?

Your support is needed to map what data the VCSE Sector collects across Humber and North Yorkshire

As a sector, we collect and process important data; not just numbers in spreadsheets for reporting but vital insight is gathered from our interactions with our people and our communities by our staff and volunteers.

Across Humber and North Yorkshire, the voluntary, community and social Eeterprise (VCSE) sector holds a wealth of data and knowledge but the challenge is understanding where that data and knowledge exists, and what additional support is needed to collect, process and share this data.

The VCSE Collaborative, which represents the Sector as part of the Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Health and Care Partnership (HCP), has created a short survey to gain a better understanding of what data is collected and how it is processed and used by the VCSE Sector. They are asking all VCSE sector organisations to complete this short survey, which takes around 10 minutes.

It’s important that the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership make informed decisions about health and care services based on a range of information, including intelligence from the VCSE Sector. Our input is crucial as we have a wealth of knowledge about the lived-experiences and challenges of our people and our communities. This is also an opportunity for your organisation to let the VCSE Collaborative know where additional support is needed to enable greater data collection and sharing.

Complete the survey here.

Working with West Yorkshire Heath & Care Partnership

We work closely with the Partnership to ensure a strong connection between VCSE organisations and Health. The Partnership covers Craven district, as well as the rest of West Yorkshire.

We work closely with the Partnership on the Harnessing the Power of Communities (HPoC) programme to connect them with VCSE organisations. The aim of the programme is to act as a catalyst for change, facilitating new opportunities for VCSE organisations to better engage in shaping services and decision making, and challenging the ways we work in health and care to ensure greater inclusivity and accessibility in commissioning and service provision.
