Darlington: Adults Counsellor, Darlington Mind
Darlington Mind is a well-established mental health charity providing crisis counselling across County Durham and Darlington.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Adults Counsellor to join our busy team. Based at our Darlington office the successful candidate will work full time on a permanent contract, supporting the operations of the Adults Counselling Team and delivering one to one counselling by phone and face to face to people who have had suicidal ideation and require counselling to commence within 5 working days.
You will need to deputise (on occasion) for the Adults Counselling Coordinator who undertakes the initial assessment of need upon enquiries received from the Crisis and Access teams and further hours will be available to do this. Full training will be given on this.
The successful candidate will have a minimum Diploma in or a Foundation Degree in Counselling, and hold membership of a professional body e.g. BACP. You will also need access to a car for work.
Satisfactory enhanced DBS check and references will be required prior to appointment.
