Salary: £34,632 (FTE)
Base: Easingwold District Community Care Association, Police House, Church Hill, Easingwold, York, YO61 3JX
Hours: 20 – 25 hours per week (days and times flexible, to be discussed – to start early September or sooner)
About Easingwold District Community Care Association
Easingwold District Community Care Association (EDCCA) is a registered charity which seeks to improve the quality of life for people in the local community and in particular help those in need. To this aim, they are now seeking to appoint a Chief Officer due to the retirement of their longstanding leader.
EDCCA currently offers:
- A community car scheme
- minibus trips
- meals on wheels
- carers sitting service
- befriending service
- men’s shed
- prescription collection and delivery
- shopping collection and delivery
- food bank and food share
- hub club for people living with dementia
- charity boutique
In addition to these key services, EDCCA co-ordinates ad hoc peer support groups such as Knit and Natter, Crossword Club, run monthly social get-togethers with their Tea and Tarts events and hire wheelchairs for short term use.
EDCCA believes that voluntary action contributes to the improvement of quality of life for groups, communities and individuals and believes everyone should have a say in decisions that affect their lives.
The over-arching responsibility of this role is to be the leader of this successful and highly valued community charity focused on Easingwold and surrounding villages.
Job Summary
You will be working with trustees to deliver the organisation’s objectives, as below:
- ensuring the association has sufficient annual income
- working in partnership with private and public sector organisations
- ensuring staff and volunteers are effectively supported
- meeting the service expectations of clients, funders and stakeholders.
Scope of job
Strategy and planning, finance, service delivery, resource and performance management and achieving change.
