Harrogate, York & Selby: Placement Coordinator, Safe and Sound Homes (SASH)
Safe and Sound Homes (SASH) is an ambitious and energetic charity working with young people to avoid or break the cycle of homelessness across North and East Yorkshire by offering a place to stay in the homes of our exceptional Hosts.
We have an exciting opportunity for an understanding and enthusiastic individual who wishes to make a direct, positive impact on the lives of young people aged 16-25 facing homelessness. The role is based in our North Yorkshire Operations Team and will cover the areas of Harrogate, York and Selby.
This dual role is to provide crisis and longer-term support to young people aged 16-25 facing homelessness alongside the ongoing support and management of SASH’s volunteer Hosts. The post holder is responsible for effectively managing the placements of young people in the home of the SASH’s hosts. This includes young people who are care experienced, care leavers and young asylum seekers and refugees to help them achieve independence and develop aspirations for their futures.
There is a requirement for participation in an ‘out of hours’ duty rota for which the post holder will receive additional payment. Also, a requirement for occasional evening and weekend working to support the charity’s service delivery including host training and wider fundraising and awareness raising activities.
