Hudswell: Manager, St Michael’s Lodge
Salary: £30,000 pa
Hours: 37 hours a week. Flexible working hours required
This is an exiting opportunity to lead on the development of a new visitor facility to be opening in the Yorkshire Dales in Spring 2025. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic manager to lead a small staff team who will open and manage St Michael’s Lodge. The Lodge is currently being converted from the former church of St Michael and All Angels in Hudswell, North Yorkshire.
It will have 16 bunk beds provided in six, ensuite rooms. The Lodge will also provide a residents lounge/dining room, shared kitchen, drying room and bicycle storage. The Lodge’s facilities are aimed primarily at walkers and cyclists, but it will have car park and electric car charging points, so will also be attractive to general visitors to the area. There will also be some scope for use of the Lodge facilities for community activities and hot desking.
The Manager will be responsible for managing a small staff team and will also work closely with the board of trustees of Hudswell Community Charity, who own the Lodge and have raised the funds needed to pay for its conversion to a hostel. They will need to be able to work flexible hours including some weekend working.
We are looking to make an appointment to this post before the end of 2024, with a view to the post holder taking up the post in March/April ahead of the opening in late May 2025.
