Memory Support Advisor – Scarborough
Part time: (28 hours, fixed term contract) – £20,078 a year

Dementia Forward is seeking a pro-active, motivated person, with a good understanding of the needs of people with dementia, to work as a Memory Support Advisor (MSA) in the Scarborough area.

The main focus of the job will be to work with Primary Care to streamline diagnosis and to support people who are on waiting lists for Memory Assessments. The role will include work on prevention and also aim to avoid inappropriate referrals to memory clinics. MSAs also connect families to support and provide a referral route into Dementia Forward for any ongoing support needs.

The post holder will work as part of integrated teams in Primary Care, and will be based in GP surgeries and venues across the designated area. The right person will be a good communicator and team player, who is well-organised and willing to learn new processes as part of the role.

Dementia Activities Support Worker, Scarborough

Part time: (7 hours), 2 posts available – £13.44 per hour

Dementia Forward is looking for two enthusiastic, caring and self-motivated Dementia Activity Support Workers to support a new day service opening in Scarborough.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of Dementia Forward’s group work by taking responsibility for the practical arrangements and supporting and encouraging the clients who attend. The group is designed to support people with dementia and their carers to maintain wellbeing and encourage social interaction, and the Activity Support Worker will also need to assess and report any needs or concerns.

The role is one day per week, supporting people within a group setting and taking a lead on activities. The right person will have a positive attitude, good communication skills and be able to show an empathy for people with dementia.
