Snainton: Employability Adviser (50+), Carers Plus Yorkshire
Carers Plus Yorkshire is a well-established charity of over 29 years, providing information, advice and support to unpaid family Carers and the wider community across multiple districts of North Yorkshire including Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Hambleton and Richmondshire.
We are seeking an experienced:
Employability Adviser (50+)
Lifetime Learning (50 not out) project
This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
30 or 35 hours per week, salary £25,531 (fte)
Based from Snainton office
Fixed term one year – April 24 to March 25 (in the first instance)
You will work alongside and be an integral member of both the Adult Carer and Community teams. This is a new project funded by UKSPF, to support 40 unpaid carers and those accessing our community offer age between 50-64yrs. You will be a good communicator, will possess an empathetic nature and be dynamic in your approach.
The aim of the project will be to support those 50+ who want to upskill to gain qualifications/ employment but are not sure how to start. Help them socially connect with others in the same situation through group support, raise confidence and aspirations to help gain new skills and interests. You will bring small groups together to bring a fun element in to learning with the goal to improve outcomes of those we support. The project includes raising awareness with employers, supporting those who gain employment/self-employment to say employed and map affordable training opportunities locally and nationally.
