Is this you? Read on!

Located in the heart of Whitby, the Trinity Centre is a social and activity Centre for older people. Our team offers services 3 days per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) to promote social inclusion and help older people to remain active, independent and in touch.

As a valued member of the activities and welfare support team, your role will involve:

  • ¬†Working with the team to develop a wide range of activities to interest our clients and keep them active, creative and socially connected. This could include arts, crafts, music, quizzes and puzzles, gentle exercise, storytelling and reminiscence.
  • Helping and supporting clients in the activities whilst monitoring their needs and general wellbeing.
  • Working remotely with clients who are not able to attend, keeping in touch through telephone calls, virtual meetings, etc, supporting activities delivered to their home, monitoring their welfare and identifying any emerging problems encountered.

Experience of working with older people or vulnerable groups may be an advantage but is not necessary, as training in this context will be provided. However, you will need empathy, patience, resilience and insight into the effects of loneliness and vulnerability. Your creativity and willingness to learn will be essential.

If this sounds like the role for you, please email Carolyn.trustee@trinitycentrewhitby.org to ask for an application pack and perhaps arrange an informal discussion.

The closing date for applications will be 12 noon on Tuesday 30 August.

Hours: 20 hours over Monday/Wednesday/Friday (we welcome job-share applicants)
Salary range: £9.50/hr
