Harrogate: Cleaner, Harrogate Homeless Project

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

Harrogate Homeless Project are looking for a dedicated and reliable cleaner to join their team. Working across both their residential hostel, busy day centre and offices, you will play a vital role in providing a clean, safe, and dignified environment for their residents, service users and staff.

This is a rewarding position for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to make a tangible difference to the most vulnerable in our community.

Main duties:

Daily cleaning: Thorough cleaning of communal areas and offices.
Sanitisation: Deep cleaning of shared bathrooms and toilets to high hygiene standards.
Room turnovers: Preparing residents’ rooms for new arrivals (deep cleans and basic linen changes).
Safety: Safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Reporting: Identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards.

What they are looking for:

Experience: Previous professional cleaning experience is essential.
Knowledge: An understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and general health and safety.
Character: A non-judgmental, patient and respectful approach to working alongside vulnerable adults.
Reliability: Excellent timekeeping and the ability to manage a busy daily schedule.
