Rural impact of access to health services in Craven
Transport, take up of VCSE services and access to GP services have been identified as the top three barriers to enabling people living in Craven to access health and wellbeing support.
The findings are from Craven Communities Together Health and Care Partnership’s ‘Craven Communities Together: Timely Access to Health Services’ report. The issues around access are strongly aligned with the rurality of Craven district.
The report is the result of over 570 people in the district taking a survey which asked for their personal experiences and perceptions of health and social care services. Participants shared their thoughts on waiting times across a range of services and experience of accessing mental health, dentistry, GPs, hospitals and pharmacies.
