Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

Steps to raise safeguarding concerns, simplified.

There are many forms of neglect and abuse – and it can be difficult to know what to do and who to turn to if you have concerns about an adult or child who you think may be at risk of harm.

Most importantly, don’t ignore any concerns that you may have.

Never, ever do nothing. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and it is vital that we all take action if we spot something that we think might be wrong.

If you’re worried about an adult or child, the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NYSCP) has created a simple poster and booklet which summaries the variety of ways to voice your concerns and who to get in touch with.

The resources also signpost to how to sign up to NYSCP’s monthly newsletter for the latest safeguarding information.

You can also find out about NYSCP’s one-stop-shop of essential online resources and training so that all your staff and volunteers have the knowledge at their fingertips to make sure that anyone who comes into contact with your organisation is protected.
