VCSE sector’s insight needed for research into improving ‘aging well and ending life well’ across Humber and North Yorkshire

What is your organisation’s experience of ‘ageing well and ending life well’ in your area? Have you experienced any specific challenges or barriers, or do you have any ideas to explore that could improve service delivery across Humber and North Yorkshire?

The Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre are applying for University of Hull funding for PhD scholarships for postgraduate students to conduct research into improving ‘ageing well and ending life well’ in the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS).

To ensure this research is relevant to the challenges that the ICS faces over the coming years, they want to work with the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector to identify what the challenges are and to develop research projects that will really inform what action should be taken. Some examples of priority areas could include how the VCSE sector can collaborate with NHS organisations, or how the sector can access the information and evidence they need to inform the services they provide.

VCSE sector organisations are invited to join an online workshop hosted by the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre on Wednesday 29 June at 10:30-12:00 to discuss and identify what the priority research areas should be. Contact mark.pearson@hyms.ac.uk to register.
