Empowering people through digital inclusion

Being online opens doors

It enables people to access advice, manage household finances, apply for jobs, connect with services, learn new skills and stay informed.

Yet many people still face barriers to accessing the digital tools, skills and confidence they need.

The Building Resilience through Digital Inclusion Grants Scheme has been created to help change that.

This North Yorkshire Council grants scheme is investing in organisations across North Yorkshire to help people build their financial resilience by improving access to digital tools, services and support. Funded through the Crisis and Resilience Fund, grants of up to £10,000 are available for projects that enable people to get online safely, confidently and independently, helping them to manage their finances, access essential services and reduce the risk of financial hardship. Organisations can also benefit from free Digital Champion training to strengthen local skills, confidence and support networks.

Community First Yorkshire is partnering with North Yorkshire Council to deliver the programme.

It’s about ensuring everyone has the opportunity to access support, make informed choices, develop skills, and take control of their future.

We’re looking for projects that help people:

  • Access online services and support

  • Improve digital skills and confidence

  • Increase household income opportunities

  • Reduce living costs

  • Stay safe from online scams and fraud

  • Access employment and learning opportunities

  • Build financial resilience and independence

Additional support

Successful applicants will receive access to free Digital Champion training, helping organisations build local expertise and create lasting community impact.
