Who needs a DBS check?

A DBS check may be required if staff or volunteers will be:

  • Working with children or vulnerable adults
  • Employed in healthcare, education or social care
  • Handling sensitive information, money, or security roles
  • In positions of trust where safeguarding is essential

Not sure what level of check you need?  We will provide you with the DBS’s eligibility guidance on basic, standard and enhanced checks, and if necessary put you in touch with the DBS’s Regional Outreach Adviser. Regular free training sessions run by DBS can help you understand eligibility and determine the level of check you can legally request.
