Location: Harrogate, with the possibility of some home-working.

Hours: Full-time, though a job share would be considered enthusiastically.

Salary: £30,500, based on a 37.5 hour week (5% pension contribution).

Contract: Permanent, after successful completion of three-month probationary period.

Open Country is an inspirational Yorkshire-based charity that seeks to enable disabled people to access and enjoy the countryside. With a central office based in Harrogate, Open Country operates in North and West Yorkshire, offering a diverse programme of countryside activities, also supporting independent active travel through a variety of publications and providing information and advice.

They are seeking a Fundraising Officer, reporting to their Finance and Fundraising Manager.  They have an ambitious fundraising strategy to deliver the required income to achieve their plans. You will work at the heart of their dynamic charity, within a small, driven and friendly team.

There is some flexibility in this role, in terms of the fundraising activities you will undertake, adapting to your skill set. For example, Open Country would welcome a 60/40 job share, splitting grant and community/corporate fundraising. There will be occasional events or activities requiring you to work weekends or evenings.

They are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate the ability to build relationships and networks. Ideally, you will have previous fundraising experience, but they will also consider candidates who can demonstrate that they have transferable skills from other sectors. They should be self-reliant, committed and have excellent verbal, written, prospect research, IT, social media and people skills. The role involves a combination of desk-based work, alongside occasional events delivery, community fundraising and corporate engagement.
