Find opportunities and local services

  • Search roles on the NCVO website (National Council for Volunteering Organisation) – which provides links to various sites including Vinspired and Volunteering Matters
  • Browse North Yorkshire Connect, a free community directory run by North Yorkshire Council. It provides information about local activities, services and advice – accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference, gain experience and change lives – including your own. You don’t need special skills or lots of time to get involved.

There are opportunities for everyone, whether you want to help regularly or just at a one-off event. Volunteering can open doors to new experiences and help you meet different people.  

It’s a chance to share your skills, learn new ones and even boost your career. Best of all, it feels good knowing you’ve made a difference.
