Supporting wellbeing across the VCSE sector

This project focused on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people working in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. Through training, coaching and practical resources, we helped organisations build confidence in having everyday mental health conversations, support leaders to prioritise their own wellbeing, and develop wellbeing champions within teams.

By combining practical learning with nature-based approaches, the programme aimed to strengthen resilience, reduce stigma and support healthier, more sustainable workplaces across the sector.

Connecting the Rothwell community

This project supports people in Rothwell to connect, share ideas and get involved in local life. Funded by Leeds City Council, our Community Builder works alongside residents and groups to celebrate local strengths, encourage new activities and help small ideas grow into meaningful community action.

By bringing people together around shared interests and talents, the project is helping to build stronger relationships and a greater sense of belonging across Rothwell.

Empowering communities to shape housing solutions

This project supports rural communities in Nidderdale to take an active role in shaping their own housing future. Working in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, we’re helping local people develop community-led housing solutions through practical skills training, governance support and funding advice.

By focusing on locally led approaches, the project aims to improve access to affordable housing and help sustain vibrant rural communities for the long term.

Rural housing enablers programme

This programme supports rural communities across North Yorkshire to develop affordable housing that meets local needs. Working in partnership with North Yorkshire Council, and funded by Defra through the ACRE network, we help broker conversations between residents, councils, landowners and developers.

By supporting the identification of Rural Exception Sites and guiding communities through the process, the programme helps deliver high-quality, small-scale housing that enables people to continue living and working in the places they call home.

Previous projects

These projects are no longer running, but they continue to offer valuable learning and insight into how we work with communities and support people facing a range of challenges. Together, they reflect our experience of partnership working, innovation and responding to local need across North Yorkshire.

While these projects have come to an end, the knowledge, approaches and relationships developed through them continue to inform our current work and future programmes.
