Harrogate District and Community Action (HADCA) is hosting the Young People’s Volunteer Recruitment Fair (7 July, 8:50 am-2:50pm)  at Outwood Academy, Ripon.

It is in collaboration with Ripon YMCA and Ripon Youth Volunteering Network (stallholders will need to arrive no later than 8:30am please, to set up and be ready to chat with students).

This event is specifically to encourage young people of Ripon to explore the benefits of volunteering, and this is an opportunity to share your meaningful opportunities with young people. Some of the things young people have told HADCA they are looking for are:

• Meaningful & interesting opportunities
• Work experience
• Build confidence
• Fun
• Volunteer with friends
• Taster sessions available
• Flexibility
• Micro volunteering (school holidays & after school )
• Family/parent volunteering

This will also be an opportunity to advertise your family volunteering opportunities, as not all students will be of an age to be able to volunteer independently at present, but may be inspired to join you in the future, or could simply join in with fundraising activities for you etc.
