Whilst the heat may be sweltering at the moment, you might want to plan ahead for the colder months ahead, by thinking about your gas safety at home.

The Choices4Energy team at North Yorkshire Council has funding available until September to help homeowners with low income and/or disability to pay for work that addresses potential gas safety, gas leaks or carbon monoxide poisoning (household income must be below £36,000, other criteria may apply).

This can pay for repairs and servicing for gas boilers, fires and cookers.  There is a maximum grant of £500 per household.
