Be Ready campaign
The Government has launched Be Ready, a new three-year campaign to help people take simple, practical steps to prepare for emergencies and periods of disruption.
The campaign focuses on everyday situations such as severe weather, flooding, power cuts and disruption to essential services and is not linked to any specific threat or increased risk.
The first phase of the campaign encourages eligible residents to sign up to the Priority Services Register (PSR), a free service that helps gas, electricity and water companies identify customers who may need extra support during service interruptions. Many people are eligible, including older people, those with disabilities or long-term health conditions and families with young children.
Community organisations can play an important role in helping residents access this information and build resilience.
