New video highlights lasting impact of Create 26 conference
A new video released by Community First Yorkshire is shining a light on the lasting impact of its upcoming leadership and collaboration conference, Create 26.
Rather than focusing solely on the day itself, the film explores what happens afterwards — the ideas, connections and actions that continue to shape organisations and communities long after the event ends.
Taking place on Thursday 21 May at the Pavilions of Harrogate, Create 26 will bring together people from across North Yorkshire’s voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector for a day of inspiration, creativity and practical learning.
The video captures a simple but powerful message: the real value of coming together lies in what people do next — the conversations that turn into action, the connections that grow into partnerships, and the ideas that move from thought to reality.
Reflecting on this, Mike Hickman, Leadership Development and Training Manager at Community First Yorkshire, said:
“Create 26 isn’t just about one day. It’s about what happens afterwards — the ideas people carry with them, the connections they act on, and the confidence to take that next step.”
He added:
“If people leave the conference and follow up on just one conversation or one idea, that’s where real change begins. That’s how we start to build something that lasts.”
The conference programme has been designed to support exactly that — bringing people together to share experiences, explore new thinking and build meaningful connections across the sector.
From keynote speakers and panel discussions to creative workshops and networking opportunities, Create 26 aims to create the conditions for collaboration and long-term impact.
Ultimately, the ambition is to support a stronger, more connected sector — one that feels confident in shaping the future of communities across North Yorkshire.
