Whitby: Trustees, Whitby, Scarborough & Ryedale Disability Action Group

Do you share Whitby Disability Action Group’s passion to support disabled people?

Could you be their next Trustee?

The current board of trustees would like to invite you to help them shape the future of their charity, so that they can continue delivering for their beneficiaries – people with disabilities in the Whitby & Esk Valley community.

The work of the trustees is focused on determining the best way to continue delivering the charity’s work, providing opportunities to those in need to receive the support that they can offer. The Trustees have legal and financial responsibilities, set the strategic direction of the charity and have overall responsibility for all matters of the charity’s governance, operations and finances.

This is an exciting time to join the Board and you don’t necessarily need to have a disability to join them. What they are looking for is someone with the commitment to help them serve their beneficiaries and undertake the role of trustee, actively and diligently.

The Trustees meet in person monthly in Whitby with occasional virtual or face to face meetings to enable them to progress specific pieces of work or decisions that need to be made.

The role is voluntary, any agreed expenses are paid.

They invite applications to join their board from those who will bring new perspective, skills, particularly governance, community projects and partnerships , finance & fundraising  along with a willingness to help other people.

If this sounds like you, please send them your CV and a cover letter telling them why you would like to join them and highlighting the great skills you have to offer to chair@whitbydag.org.uk or if you would like to chat informally then please do get in touch by email.

Closing date: Friday 18 December
