Harrogate/Hybrid: Volunteer Coordinator, Harrogate Homeless Project

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Location: Harrogate/hybrid working available

Salary: £17,232.75 per annum

Contract: 12-month maternity cover

Are you passionate about people, community engagement and making a real difference? Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) is looking for an organised, enthusiastic and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to join their team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything they do. They support their hostel, move-on accommodation, fundraising events and wider community activities, helping them provide vital support to people experiencing homelessness across the Harrogate district. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop their volunteer programme, ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported and equipped to make a lasting impact.

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding and supporting volunteers across the organisation. You will work closely with colleagues to identify volunteer opportunities, coordinate placements, deliver inductions and training, manage volunteer records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. You will also help develop their community fundraising volunteer network, supporting local people to raise awareness and funds for HHP within their own communities.

They are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people. Experience in volunteer management, community engagement or the charity sector would be advantageous, although they welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting others.

This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive and dedicated team. Hybrid working is available, although some office-based working will be required.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter to Nicola Ridgway at nicola@hhphostel.org.
