Can you help make each day meaningful for people living with dementia?
Community Works is looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people living with dementia and can lead their day care service with warmth, confidence and good judgement.
This is a hands-on role. Alongside their Dementia Day Care Assistant and volunteers, you’ll help people enjoy meaningful activities, build friendships and maintain their skills and independence, while giving families and carers reassurance and valuable time for themselves.
You’ll organise and lead sessions, manage referrals and assessments and support staff and volunteers. Their Service Delivery Manager will support you as you take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service.
Experience of supporting people living with dementia and/or older people with complex needs, assessing individual needs and supervising staff is essential. Patience, practical thinking and good organisation matter too.
This is an exciting time to join Community Works. Following a significant restructure to strengthen their long-term sustainability, they’re putting their five-year ‘Building Better Lives’ strategy into action. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and grow the service around what matters to our community and the people who use it.
Their Dementia Day Care service currently runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility around how the remaining hours are worked. There is also potential for the hours to increase as the service grows.
