Salary: £26,601 pro rata per annum
Hours: 30–37 hours per week (part-time or full-time)
Contract: Permanent
Location: North Yorkshire; hybrid or remote working within the UK will also be considered.

North Yorkshire Citizens Advice & Law Centre is recruiting a Fuel Poverty Adviser to help people who are struggling with the cost of heating their homes.

You’ll advise people on energy efficiency, fuel-related debt, welfare benefits and ways to maximise their income. You’ll also help them access vouchers and other financial support, working with partner organisations and specialist teams where needed.

Most advice is given by phone, with some by email. You’ll work on a rota to handle incoming calls, callbacks and referrals, managing a varied workload and working towards targets.

The employer is keen to hear from people with advice experience, ideally in energy, debt or welfare benefits. Applicants with less experience who are keen to develop their skills are also welcome. Training and support are provided.

Preference will be given to applicants who can work from the Northallerton, Richmond, Malton, Scarborough, Selby or Harrogate office. Hybrid and remote working within the UK will also be considered.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 23 November 2026.
Interviews: Week commencing 30 November 2026.
Preferred start date: 11 January 2027.
