North Yorkshire: Adviser to Unpaid Carers (Veterans), Carers Plus Yorkshire
Hours: 25 hours per week (days to be negotiated at interview)
Salary: £18,020.19 (of FTE £27,030.29)
Contract: fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance (to 2029)
Location: based from Northallerton office (with optional hybrid working once induction is completed)
An Unpaid Carer is someone who provides unpaid support to family, friends or a neighbour in your community who could not manage without this help. This could be, caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled, has mental health needs or substance misuse.
The Adviser to Unpaid Carers (Veterans) will provide a service of information, advice, guidance & support, including emotional support for adult carers 18+ who are veterans themselves or care for a veteran in the Hambleton and Richmondshire area.
The successful candidate will follow an unpaid carers journey from assessment to action planning and evaluation of their support.
Raising awareness of unpaid caring and its impact amongst the veteran community, is an important element of the role, so the candidate should be able to deliver talks, training and network with carers and professionals to raise awareness within the veteran community.
They will be proactive in their approach to support the development of the service, therefore enthusiastic and forward thinking with ideas to reach more veteran carers within the local communities.
