Filey/Scarborough/Whitby: Mental Health Outreach Workers, Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind

Salary: Starting salary of £24,875

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the role:

Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind are looking to recruit two empathetic and passionate Mental Health Outreach Workers who are committed to making a real difference in people’s lives. One full time role covers Scarborough and Filey (fixed term contract to September 2027) and one role covers Scarborough, with 1 day per week in Whitby (1 year contract with potential to extend). They strongly encourage applicants with lived experience of mental health.

In these roles, outreach workers will:

  • Provide one-to-one, trauma informed support in the clients home or local community, coproducing a support plan with the client based on their goals and aspirations.
  • Co-facilitate a small number of support groups (e.g. bereavement) and pilot your own ideas for support groups, workshops or wellbeing sessions.
  • Help people build resilience, improve wellbeing, and connect with their community.
  • Advocate for those facing barriers like housing, income, and social isolation.

Required

  • Occasional evening slots for clients who are working.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
