Job Title: Sessional Therapist – creative therapies for primary school children, aged 4-11 years.
Location: Primary schools across Ryedale, Scarborough, Whitby and the surrounding areas.
Fee: £55 per session, plus contribution to travel expenses.
Hours: Flexible, term-time delivery.
Start date: January 2026.
About Project Marigold
Project Marigold is a new children’s mental health charity with a bold strategy to provide primary school children with the emotional support they need to thrive and achieve.
Focusing on early intervention, they aim to tackle mental health challenges as they arise, to prevent further crisis and minimise the impact of poor mental health on children’s education.
Their creative therapy offer will help children develop strategies to improve their emotional regulation, address mental health challenges, like anxiety and, and increase their ability to learn and achieve.
About the Role
They are building a bank of sessional therapists to support school-based delivery. You will work directly with children referred into their programme, delivering therapeutic sessions in a safe, inclusive, and child-centred way.
We are looking for practitioners who:
- Have recognised qualifications in art/play/drama therapy, child counselling or equivalent;
- are registered with a relevant UK professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, HCPC);
- have experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally in school settings;
- operate within safeguarding and confidentiality frameworks.
