The changing fortunes of rural communities
As the Rural Community Council for North, South and West Yorkshire, under the umbrella of Action with Communities for Rural England (ACRE), we’re fully behind issues ACRE raises in this report.
Lack of community transport, and concerns around health and care provision, loneliness and isolation and a lack of affordable housing feature prominently among charities who were asked to reflect on rural communities post pandemic and in response to the cost of living crisis. As a local infrastructure organisation, we’re in full agreement with ACRE’s calls for more financial backing to allow community groups and organisations to build community resilience and address the many challenges people face today.
