Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract (Potential to extend beyond the initial term)

Harrogate Homeless Project is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Employment Support Officer to help people experiencing homelessness, or with a history of rough sleeping, take steps towards sustainable employment.

Working directly with our residents, you will provide personalised employment support, helping individuals identify goals, build confidence and access opportunities including training, volunteering, work experience and paid employment. You will also develop strong relationships with local employers, training providers and partner organisations to create pathways into work.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting one-to-one assessments and developing personalised employment action plans.
• Supporting clients with CVs, job applications, interview preparation and job searching.
• Delivering or sourcing confidence-building and workplace skills activities.
• Building partnerships with employers and organisations to create opportunities.
• Providing ongoing support to help individuals sustain employment.
• Maintaining accurate records and monitoring outcomes.

About You

You will have:

• Experience in employment support, careers advice, coaching, welfare or a similar role.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to motivate and empower people facing complex challenges.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.
• Experience working with employers and external partners.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Knowledge of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness would be advantageous.
