Harrogate: Financial Controller, Harrogate Homeless Project
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days per week)

Harrogate Homeless Project is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team and play a vital role in securing the financial sustainability and future growth of their charity.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified or highly experienced finance professional looking for a rewarding role where their expertise can directly support people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across the Harrogate district.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will oversee all aspects of the charity’s financial management, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance and effective reporting. Working closely with their Finance Officer, management team, Treasurer and Board of Trustees, you will provide strategic financial insight that supports informed decision-making and organisational development.
Key responsibilities include preparing management accounts, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, managing cashflow, overseeing payroll and financial systems, monitoring grant funding and restricted income and coordinating year-end accounts and audit requirements.
You will also provide financial guidance to senior leaders and trustees, identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance and support the ongoing development of systems and processes.
They are looking for someone with strong technical financial expertise, excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
Experience of charity finance, SORP requirements and grant-funded organisations would be advantageous.
